Default Using Elance Feedback
I have done 10 jobs for Elance users and have received 100% positive feedback as well as some very kind feedback comments. My question is, should I use these on my "testimonials" page? Should I rename my page "feedback"? What do you think?

Thank you,
Dina Schoenfeld

Dina,
What exactly is Elance? I must sound so uninformed.
Please educate me.
Thank you,
Tina

Hi Dina! By all means, I would DEFINITELY use positive feedback from them, but only if you ask them first. I told my first two 'unofficial' clients that I would be posting their reviews of me on my website and neither of them batted an eyelash--they actually welcomed the exposure! :-)

I would keep your feedback from these people and keep the verbiage listed as Testimonials.

I hope that helps. Good luck! :-)

I would ask the Elance clients for a testimonial when you complete their jobs. I'm not familiar with the Elance feedback page but if the client has posted nice comments about you, I don't see why you couldn't use those comments. However, I would suggest asking to use their comments, feedback or testimonials before I posting on your public site. If you receive permission, then also ask how they wish to be cited. Some may not want their name used others may like the publicity and ask you to use their name and their website address.

But to answer your question, using the word 'testimonial' is better than 'feedback' as I believe the latter sounds more professional.

Congratulations on the 100% excellent feedback. That's great news!

Janine

I always as for feedback after I complete a project and I also ask permission to use testimonial either in Ezines or website or brochures. I've never had anyone say "NO" yet.

I also agree with Janine to refer to them as testimonials instead of Feedback.

I hope that helps.

Yes, I would use the feedback but I would also check with those folks first before posting them elsewhere.

Dina, I have used the feedback that I have received on Elance on my testimonials page.. if you'd like to take a look, feel free: Edge VA Raves

Tina - Elance is an online freelance market that connects freelancers and business owners. elance.com, guru.com, odesk.com - are all freelance sites. In general the VA community has an unfavourable opinion of these sites, but I think of myself as a "success story" from using Elance as a new VA.

Elance feedback is open to the public. If you are working with Elance clients they understand that the feedback they leave you is public domain. I have seen in the past where other people "steel" feedback left for others and put it on their websites. But, other than that, it is open to the public.

For Tina, Elance is like Guru they are job boards where you sign up either for a fee or free depending on who you go with, and bid on projects to be completed. The competition is pretty high because there are some who will pay very low wages to someone in another country. There are a lot of places like Elance on the internet. Do a search on Google. There is also GetAFreelancer, freelancejobsearch, ifreelance, bidhire, freelancejobs.org and a billion more. Good Luck
