Default UNformatting text from another application when working in a WYSIWYG html editor
File this under helpful hints and it could be something most of you already know.

If you're working in any kind of WYSIWYG editor (FrontPage, WordPress, etc), and you're copying text from MS Word or from a website, you can "wash away" the formatting by simply copying and pasting to notepad first and then copying from notepad into your WYSIWYG editor.

I can remember spending way too much time stripping out copious code added by Word or even someone's email program before I had my V8 moment and started stripping it with Notepad.

The same exact thing happened to me. All the time I used to waste! Ugh!

Yes! Hamid taught me that little trick - saved me HOURS after struggling with getting content from a client's interview series into her (much hated) Blogger blog. Now, I automatically 'strip' *everything*.

Actually, I should have mentioned that this is good for DeskTop Publishing too. That's what made me think to post it today. I'm doing a 12 page newsletter pulling in stuff from a ton of teachers. A lot of format washing.
