Default Question about Word Press
In order to use Artisteer for my website, do I need to have a blog site through Wordpress.com or wordpress.org? I know through wordpress.org I have to pay for monthly hosting - I just need to know which to use before I proceed.

Hi Mary,

You would need a hosting account that initially you can install the default wordpress.org theme to. Wordpress.com will NOT let you install any other themes but their own (you couldn't use Artisteer and need to choose a WP.com theme).

IMO only, it is much more professional for a site to have their own hosting anyway - whether a blog or static site.

I highly recommend BlueHost for hosting. Very easy to install Wordpress from the cpanel using Fantastico or Simple Scripts.

HTH a bit,

Hi Mary,

I agree 100% with Jules. Blue host is great for affordable hosting and going with wordpress on your own site is best for SEO too. Wordpress.com has a lot of limitations.

Let us know how else we can help.
Warmly
Rachel

In addition to the great comments already made, WordPress.com (the free one) doesn't allow you to use it for commercial activities. So in order to "sell" your business, you'd need to use WordPress.org (the self-hosted one).

I personally use HostGator for my hosting and have been extremely pleased with it.
