Default HELP!!?!?!?!? Moving domain.com to domain.com/blog
Hello...

I am in desperate need to know how to do something for a client I have.

My client has a blog on a domain right now but he wants me to move his blog to a /blog and make the domain look more like a website... but keep it as a blog. I hope that makes sense!!!

So not to give away his site I will be more specific with my own site. I have created a WP blog for my biz and it looks more like a website instead of an actual blog. http://virtuallyrobin.info.

My client doesn't want his main page looking like a blog but wants to keep his blog with the same theme. So, he want to move what is currently at virtuallyrobin.info to virtuallyrobin.info/blog while keeping the same theme on virtuallyrobin. I hope that makes it a little clear.

I just don't know how to move everything from virtuallyrobin.info into virtuallyrobin.info/blog. I have created the /blog sub-directory and I tried to copy and paste the files from the domain to /blog but that didn't work.

If anyone can help me I would be SO grateful!!!

Thank you!!!

Robin

If it's a wordpress site and client wants main header to show on blog(no changes) you can just add a "page" in current installation titled Blog and then in the Dashboard go to "Settings" -> "Reading" click "static page" in first section and choose whatever the home page is as your "front page" and choose "blog" as the posts page.

Good Luck

Thanks Christina!!

What you suggested would be my first choice BUT the client does not want the blog on the main domain. He wants to have a separate domain for his blog.

If anyone else has any suggestions I would be so appreciative for their feedback!!!

Thanks!!!

Robin

So you are saying that instead of www.mycurrentwebsite.com/blog the client wants www.mynewblog.com/blog? A completely and totally new, separate domain?
