Good Morning VAF - Would headway be a good choice of purchase for someone who has no prior web design experience? I used godaddy and a website tonight template and I am not satisfied with it at all. I was for a moment going to try to get it professionally done but after some thought I figured teaching myself how to do this is a great idea since I can later help my clients maintain their sites and it would come out much cheaper than trying to get done, so here I am trying to start small but really want a good end result even if it takes months to achieve. Please let me know if I should invest in headway are is there something easier/better that I should use.

P.S. I also like that it's not expensive.

I've used Headway and Thesis - both DIY themes for Wordpress that have a lot of flexibility and while I think they're both great, I felt there was more of a learning curve to Headway.

If you're not a coder, you can use either of these - but it's the people who understand code well, imo, who make these themes really shine.

If you've got the time and desire, I think Headway has great support and an interactive community, so it might be a great place to learn.

I'm on board with Crystal's thoughts. I thought Headway was more work than I initially anticipated although I have seen some really nice Headway sites roll through here.

You could also use a free Wordpress theme...google free wordpress website themes and see what you get. There is some customization with these, although there is little to no support. But you may not need support if the theme is easy to work with as many are.

Crystal mentioned Thesis and many people really like these. I've not used this myself but I did check it out and I believe there is some support for the price.

I'm a big fan of Headway, it's what I built my site with but I agree, there can be a bit of a learning curve, especially if you've worked in other themes because the leaf system is totally different.
