Question GoDaddy website
Hello All !

So I purchased a domain the other day from GoDaddy.com, (I was so excited!) of course I was having a great time putting things on and then taking them off and re-doing it ..again and yet again. LoL I was wondering, anyone else who has purchased a domain from that site, what web tools or sites have you used in designing your pages. Such as inserting links, or pay pal, etc. A rep from GoDaddy.com actually called me last night and offered this site as a resource www.W3school.com . It maybe of use to you guys. He also suggested that purchasing the privacy was a must if you did not want to be hassled by spam or annoying sales calls.

Anyone with website tips, tools or suggestions on designing a fantastic web page?

Thanks a bunch !

~ Sue

Umm, I tried that link and it took me to a "Mega site of Bible studies". You were one letter off - it needs to be "schools".

http://www.w3schools.com/

I usually do that with phone numbers, off by a bit. The last place I worked, I gave someone the 800 number to call...and they got a naughty phone line! I had forgotten our phone number started with 877...

I also bought the privacy thing from GoDaddy, and I must say I haven't been hassled at all...would have I been hassled if I hadn't bought it? Hard to say.

I have my website hosted elsewhere. I used some open source templates for my website, then had to upload them to my site. I also found some great free HTML editors

So much cool free stuff!

Hi Sue,

My very first website, I purchased domain from GoDaddy, get the free template from www.freecsstemplates.com, and decided to go on and have GoDaddy host it.

The thing with freecsstemplates, you still need to know a little bit of html just in case you want/need to change things around.

My second website, I decided to go with weebly.com. They have the easiest drag & drop web site creations. It even lets you make a blog that is integrated to your site, and it has the easiest way to add PayPal to your site. You really don't need to know a single code.

I used weebly because I just wanted to get my site done & running with no time wasted, while I'm focusing on my other marketing effort.

And yes, you can use weebly even though you purchased your domain name elsewhere (in fact it's better that way, purchased domain through weebly is expensive).

Hope that helps.

Thanks Jean !

I will check into that, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. My GoDaddy site, is coming along but it has been very time consuming since I'm learning as I go how to work the site. If I were to get another site through GoDaddy at this point, It wouldn't take me nearly as long to get it up and running since I know how to get it all done. But I will look into weebly also.

Thanks again

We've purchased several domain names, including my mksdesignss.com site, but we host through hostgator. Our site will be completely up soon, but you can check it out at www.mksdesignss.com. My husband designed the logo and is designing the website. He'll be doing all the design work for our company, where I'll be doing the content and weekly/monthly updates for our clients.

mksdesigns ~

Wow, that's great team work there ! It probably does make this whole website process a lil less stressful when you have someone to work on it with you. The GoDaddy site I purchased, hosting is included. Should I host else where?

Thanks

I have my site hosted at GoDaddy but I thinking of moving it when it comes time for renewal. I love GoDaddy because they are forced to stay up to date and once up, it really is so easy and the interface for webmail anywhere is cool. However, what I don't like is the up sell they do: it's pretty confusing. I'm always purchasing things I don't need and duplicates of things! They are pretty cool about calling you though and refunding money to those of us who BUY everything. . . :-)

I currently use GoDaddy for my site. Granted it's new, but so far I really like it. I've used Host Gator in the past & had some issues. I just wish GoDaddy had more templates, but other than that I can't complain. Plus, I've called tech support twice & wasn't on hold more than 2 minutes! That's a huge plus for me.
