Go Daddy website builder
Does anyone have experience with Go Daddy website builder? If so, was your experience positive or negative?
I'm shopping around for web design software. I don't have a boat load of money to spend but when I advertised on Craigs List, I got some really cheesy sites as samples.
Thanks,
Donna

Re: Go Daddy
I have used the Go Daddy website builder and it is pretty user-friendly. My biggest complaint was when you call customer service/tech support - they don't have an 800 number! So you pay for a call to Arizona!

Re: Go Daddy website builder
I'm not a big fan of Go Daddy websites. It's a shame because I'm a big fan of everything else that they offer. You can google "site builder" or a similar search term and come up with 50 (IMO better) site builders that won't cost very much at all.

Have you considered installing Wordpress and using it as your website framework?

Is your site WordPress?
I have a site now www.livewirevs.com but most of my clients want me to do more computer repair type work instead of administrative. So, since I found my niche, it's time to update my site. Problem is, a family member created it for me and he's MIA and I can't make any changes. I want to add blogs, troubleshooting links, etc.
Your site is very well done. Any suggestions on some good tutorials on how to create a WordPress site?

Thank you. Yes, my site is Wordpress with the Headway theme. I'm just starting to create tutorials through the Girly Girl Geek division of my services, but I don't have enough at the moment to help you much. You could try doing a search on YouTube, I'm sure there are some good ones there.
I will say that I've used website builders, html coding with FrontPage and I've found Wordpress much easier to use.

Re: Go Daddy website builder
With first hand knowledge, I can tell you I originally set up my webpage using GoDaddy's Website Tonight which was easy for someone with no web building experience (we'll I did take a class in high school, but that wasn't much and too long ago). Then things changed. When I was ready for a blog, I would have to pay for additional hosting, since their Website Tonight package hosting doesn't include blogging hosting. So, I bit the bullet and had my webpage done by someone (She did a fabolous job!!!) who I looked at early on and didn't think I could afford it at the time. By doing this, I was able to switch to a different hosting which includes blog hosting, which GoDaddy credited me the balance of my Website Tonight hosting to my new plan. If you're in a pinch $$$ starting out or not wanting to ever do a blog, then start out with the Website Tonight and you'll be fine. Otherwise, keep in mind you'll need to change later. Had I known this from the beginning, I wouldn't have wasted my time, not the money, but my time doing the Website Tonight myself. Hope this helps!

Re: Go Daddy website builder
I know very little about website development, though I did recently install WordPress. It has been relatively easy, thus far. I was referred to WordPress by a webmaster who uses their professional templates (they offer more customization options than the free templates)....worth noting he uses WordPress even though he could do the coding by hand. Adding content (pages/formatting) has been very easy. I highly recommend it. Good luck!

Re: Go Daddy website builder
Tina,
So I've spent the morning looking at other VA Sites and have decided to take your suggestion and use Word Press. I must say out of the hundreds of sites I've viewed this morning, yours is one of the best. Now, I'm a little confused about the headway feature.
I have a free weekend so I'm hoping to get a handle on it by Monday morning. I may be asking for your help if that's okay....
Thanks a million,
Donna

Re: Go Daddy website builder
Donna,
That's absolutely okay. Feel free to ask away. And thanks so much for the compliment on my site.
BTW. Headway is a theme that you can apply to your WordPress installation that allows you to customize it more easily. It kind of helps to think of it this : Wordpress is the dressmaker's form, the underlying framework and themes are the fabrics, sequins and other materials you use to create your own customized "fashion statement" --your site.
