My current site was created on Google, and as such there was not a lot of creative control and design options.

I am looking for a free web based or downloadable web design program which does not require you to use HTML.

Has anyone used one which has been successful? I'd appreciate your advice.

Hi there,

I myself just tried out the google version on behalf of someone else, & was not impressed. I've used WordPress.com too... fairly easy to use - no HTML required, still kinda limited - but definitely better than google, so that could be an option.

However... literally this morning, I ran across http://www.weebly.com & am super impressed with how easy to use it is, & with how many features you get for free. So, head over to their website & you can try out a live demo just to see - it could be a good solution.

Have you thought about using a WordPress blog as your site? There are thousands of themes and looks to choose form and you don't need to know html.
