Default Does anyone have a currency converter on
Let me start that question again lol...

Does anyone have a currency converter on their website? It was a thought I had whilst grappling with my rates page content.

If so can you recommend a reliable one? (Google gadgets does seem to have some awesome ones but they seem to be all over their quota for bandwidth this early in the month which is a worry).

Regards
Mandy

Hello! I have not heard or seen one on a site, but you could add a link to a reputable site that offers one. I use this one - http://www.xe.com/, when I need to.

Good Luck!

Thanks mmrsolutions

It occured to me that as I'd prefer to be paid in NZD I'd best provide a solution to the conversion problem How do the rest of your deal with international currency or is it not an issue for you?

Would love everyones feedback

Hi Mandy,

Most of my clients pay via PayPal, and I know PayPal automatically converts the currency for them. I always quote my rate in American dollars and pretty much leave it up to them to convert it. I really do like the idea of adding a link to a converter, though...just in case they need a quick look at the costs they may be incurring.

Hope that helps!

Brianna

I bill via Paypal (only) and the Paypal system actually handles all conversions automatically for me. I'm assuming it would work the same way for you.

Because I'm in the States I don't have a solid personal opinion on this, but it seems like it would be kind of a pain to have to check conversion rates every billing period...or, technically, daily - because if the rate is higher or lower on any given day you want to make sure you're billing accurately.

If you're concerned about helping your clients and potential clients determine how much they're paying what about installing a widget like this on your site?

And...if that's not quite what you're looking for, here are some more.

Thanks Tess

Those are the type of widgets I am after, I guess I'm working on the idea that if a client is viewing my site from overseas (i.e. not in NZ) having a widget right there will encourage them to do the conversion then and there - saves them time and energy having to find a conversion site themselves which may put them off.

I know this is quite an old post but was wondering if anyone has put a currency converter on their website and if it is effective?
