Wacko Creating Crisp, Sharp, Clean Looking Text Images
I am struggling a lot right now with learning PhotoShop - and all I want to do is get a text image created that is sharp and clean - that I can put on my business cards, but want to put it as an image.

Am I even using the right program to do this - or is there a better way?

I appreciate your help, before I decide to throw my computer out the window.

If you are starting with a jpg at 72 dpi, resampling won't help. You have to start with a higher resolution image or start with a Photoshop file or Illustator (saved at least 300 dpi) to get a clean crisp image.

Yes, and I'd recommend not trying to do too much text this way cuz it never looks just right, in my experience. It's ok for a few words, though. I wonder if it's because I work in Photoshop Elements, not the real Photoshop .....

I did my logo (showing by my name today) using Corel PhotoPaint - similar to PhotoShop but much less expensive. My husband has PhotoShop which he uses as part of his photography hobby.

I did my logo by starting with a 1200 dpi file and saved down from there. I think it work okay, but again as Mary said, it's okay for a few words.

I have found it a lot easier to work with text in Illustrator. If you don't have it, you can download a free open source program called Inkscape that is pretty good.

If you want a program that is almost identical to Photoshop google: The Gimp. I use it and it's flipping awesome!
