Default building website
Any suggestions on who to use to build a website? I am in the starting stages now that I have decided on my business name and my business plan is all set up. I would appreciate any feed back on who you have used or what software you have used to build up your website.

Thanks in advance

Denyse, did you check out Christina's contest/offer for a free WordPress site? http://www.virtualassistantforums.co...nter-now-13109

There are quite a few designers here on the VAF, me being one of them (my current site is a WP site, but I also do HTML/CSS sites, too [sorry, had to get a little plug in there for myself] ), so you might contact one of us, too. I'm not in the directory yet (I'm still mulling over content for my new VA site, but it's almost done ), but you can check out other designers, too: http://www.virtualassistantforums.com/directory/

Personally, I don't like site building software/hosting (most of these sites are table-based, and I'm not a fan of tables for layout, etc. for sites), but others that have used these might jump in.

HTH a bit! How exciting for you - congrats on getting up to this point in your business!

Hi Denyse!

I used Coffee Cup Visual Site Designer software that you can download at www.coffeecup.com. You can try it for a trial period and test it out. It was referred to me by a web builder and he told me it would be simple to use--and it was!

Best part is that it is only $49. I built my own site and I also provide basic web services.

Let me know if you find any success in building your site and congrats. This is a major accomplishment for you and it's all pretty exciting!

Kathya,

I remember you mentioning Coffee Cup to me a while ago - thanks for reminding me! I checked out the website and am going to try it out. I love the layout of your website so I will definately take your word for it and give it a try.

Denyse,

There are many programs that work for everyone. If you know html/css and coding then coffee cup has many add-on's the the Visual Site. Although each add-on package is additional money.

WordPress is very popular now and there are many threads here about that as well.

There are also extensive posts about hosting and packages so don't forget to check them out.

Good luck to you and let us know if you run into any stumbling blocks.

Hi all,

I have a request for information from all of you knowledgeable ladies.

I built my site using Kompozer. If you look at it you will see that everything is on the left hand side of the page. I would like it to all be centered with the black on both sides. Does anyone know how I can move it to the center? When I created the page, it just automatically defaulted to the right. Thanks a bunch!
