Default Mini Business Cards
Has anyone used the mini business cards? How do you feel about them? What response did you get?

Hi Penny,

Can you provide a link to a sample so we can see? I'm afraid like Jill, I don't know what a mini card is.

Do you mean the ones on Moo?

I haven't used them.... yet. I have yet to think of a way I can use them creatively, as I don't like the idea of replacing my standard sized cards with the mini ones.

They are only about 1.0" x 2.75", but they are thicker than a regular card.

They are small -- and that's the point. They're different and small enough to stick in your wallet. People usually print both sides with full color.

I wouldn't want to get rid of the regular size business card but they could be used I guess. Business cards are small to begin with so I am not sure that a smaller version would be kept or not lost.

Wow, they are very colorful - I think they would definitely stand out for some people - however, I would be afraid they would be considered 'campy' and not taken seriously. I feel most people are just wired to expecting the 'regular' size card.

Maybe they can be sent out as a "freebie" in a mailing? Can they be used as bookmarks? That can be a creative way... i've been tempted to get the Moo cards but haven't had the time to actually actively look into them

There are heaps of ways you can use these mini cards which personally I think is a better idea, rather than using them instead of regular sized cards http://uk.moo.com/ideas/minicard-ideas.html

I remember the first time someone gave me one of these, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I went to a real estate seminar in Atlanta and most of the younger top-producing agents had them.

I have a set of the mini-moo cards that represent different 'branches' of my business, then I have my regular business card, also a moo design, for Clerical Advantage. This way I can give people specific information related to what they may be interested in regarding services. Both the mini cards and my regular moo biz cards get lots of compliments as being 'so different' that people actually hang onto them.

I think these are very creative and plan on using them for my REVA once it's launched.

Thanks Teresa! I love their regular biz cards too. And as a side note, I only ordered a box of 50 regular cards to go along with the mini's. Many people think that 50 cards aren't enough, but in my experience I don't give out business cards as often as businesses might have in the past due to the 'connected' nature of our business.
I'd rather spend the money on 50 really amazing cards and give them out sparingly than get tons of run of the mill cards that I might never use. I still have 150 old VistaPrint cards with outdated info that I purchased when I started my business tucked away in a box somewhere.

Whilst I'm all for new ideas and these do look really funky, are people likely to keep them? I personally capture contact details from business cards into Outlook so for me personally it's a moot point, but bear in mind that a lot of people still use business card holders which only fit the standard size business cards in them.

I think it could be a good idea to have both the smaller ones and regular sized cards. You can normally judge if someone is 'old-school' and likely to store cards in a holder, that way you can give them the larger one.

After looking at the websites and seeing what can be done with these little beauties, I must retract my "campy" note and wholeheartedly imagine many ways these can be used to promote anything with the business. I would probably use them in conjunction with the regular business card - but definitely they are eyecatching and very up-to-the minute.

I've seen a lot of mini business cards. It all depends on how you feel about it - If you don't feel they portray who you are, then don't use them. I think they look like the newest "thing."

You could always get a smaller amount and see how potential business clients react. Then decided if you want to get more printed in the future.

I personally haven't really seen them used much but I always say and truely believe that Change is good. If it looks like something you would like to try, go for it. You never really know unless you try.

I say, go for it, try a smaller amount and you can always reorder if you really like them and they work out well

I have to much information on my cards to utilize a mini-card. I do like the creative appearance of the cards. They really do stand out.
