I sent out postcards to a select few people I know that will either give me a call to use my services or pass the postcard along. I sent one to a colleague I met through LinkedIn who is going to give it a thorough review and reply with constructive criticism.

I did the following:
attended 5 networking events - 1 seminar-style, 1 roundtable, 1 loose networking format, and 2 speed networking formats;
updated ACT with the contacts I made and exchanged emails;
created a blog (which I'll add to my sig when allowed);
accessed a database to download small businesses in selected zipcodes to research and market to.

I did meet with the president of Women's Business Owners of Prince George's County and am going to be joining their board next month. Now THAT should generate business.

I simply updated my business stationary to include a special promotion for coaches. I will send those pieces out to that industry.

I'm a day late on this but if you use a Monday - Sunday week then I:

1. Published an article in a local weekly paper that attempts to explain what virtual services are.
2. Paid for two more weeks of a 2x2 ad in the same paper.
3. Printed 24 postcards to send to potential clients with a "new client special" rate.
4. Posted daily on Twitter.

I'm actually on vacation from my "real" day job (that I plan to replace) and have used this week to decide to move forward with the virtual assistant concept (which is how I found this forum!).

What I did:
1) I revamped my website
2) I'm developing a business plan to nail down the "next steps" to start officially promoting and marketing to potential clients in the next five months.

Sorry that your website has you frustrated. But truly...I was there..am there..have been there. I am currently doing the same thing, but I am making it a learning experience as I dabble with the opensource software JOOMLA!. It is a CMS (content management system). If I understand it correctly you can control the content within your website. I am sure there are others here who could give you better/more details. I can only tell you the mistakes I made installing it...and how to correct them.

What is Twitter? I have myspace...is it like that? Does it work for anyone?
