Default Things that make you go "hmmm"
Here's another great article from Marketing Profs and something for us to think about.

I think the article is relevant for VAs because as small business owners in an industry still growing, it is imperative that we get the word out about us. Since we all have limited marketing budgets I think this article will help switch on our creative lightbulbs that make us go "hmmm".

Interesting idea about the blender

Seriously though, it is a good article and food for thought.

Thanks for sharing, Shari!

Isn't it interesting that many of the old ways of marketing no longer work? I mean really...who picks up the yellow pages anymore? We recycle them the second they hit our front porch!

That's probably why the yellow pages has the online version as well. I wonder if they'll eventually phase the printed version out in a few years and just go with online?

I'm not sure. I know the baby-boomer generation still uses the yellow pages for the most part, and they're a huge market for service-based industries like plumbing and contractors. It interesting to note the trends in advertising, though.

Thanks for sharing this Shari. Great article. We never look in our yellow pages either.

I very rarely use the Yellow Pages. If I have access to a computer I check there first. YP is only a last resort for me. I think eventually the print versions of the phone books will be gone but right now there are alot of older people who aren't computer literate so still rely on the YP. What amazes me is that people are still taking out full page ads in the phone books. I think that's a total waste of advertising dollars.

Great article Shari!
