Do you ever offer special offers for your clients/potential clients? I'm wondering what kinds of things a VA could offer.

I mean "SALE! 25% LESS WORDS FOR YOUR ARTICLE THIS MONTH!" isn't going to cut it.

Any suggestions on what to offer? Just curious.

I have offered 1st hour of service Free for new clients and 10% discount for referrals. It's beneficial because it allows someone who is otherwise scared to try the service, and can also be a bonus to current customers.

With upcoming holidays (just got over the cyber stuff) and the coming year - perfect reasons to offer specials == without it looking like you are new & desparate -- I will probably do something along those lines after the 1st of the year -- guess that makes me old and desparate --->> lol!!

When you see VA companies in India offering a whole week for free I'm not sure "free" is viable in this day and age. Of course when they try offshore and discover the (poor to horrendous) spelling and grammar, they'll never try VA again, which is sad as we have so very much to offer.

Three weeks to Christmas and most people are totally absorbed in it, whether it is happily or sadly, remembering losses of loved ones or coping with loved ones in hospitals or care facilities. Christmas is not a happy time for everyone and we have to respect that. Many people just wish Christmas would go away.

My father passed away 13 years ago. My mother and I (and our dogs and cats) are our only family and we've not "done christmas" since dad passed. Outside lights are installed, I'll cook a nice meal and we'll have a warm, quiet time. Personally I'm taking a little "me" time, reading, running my dogs in the woods as I do every day and planning a strategic marketing plan for 2011.

IMHO advertising in any form is going to be useless right now. Take some "me" time this holiday season as when your business takes off you're going to need it. It's 4 a.m. - exhausted, I slept all evening and have been working since midnight. I'll make a good breakfast soon, take my dogs for a run then take a nap.

Yes, Christmas being on the doorstep is part of my hesitation for getting started atm. But I'm going to work on just getting things together right now and be ready for the new year.

I see you are in London, ON. That's where I grew up! My parents are still there.

And great idea deb to use the holidays and special events around us as a reason to have an offer.
