Sometimes a wrong number (or email in this case) can be good
I recevied an email from someone last month who is on my distribution list for direct mailings. It wasn't meant to go to me, but someone else and it said :
"The company I was speaking to you about yesterday is called Oakville Admin. Their telephone number and email address is provided below. Perhaps your colleague could contact them and see if they hire any sub-contract or part-time people to perform the work."
I then received the following:
"Please ignore the previous message - was sent to you by mistake."
I sent the following:
"No problem. Just to let you know, I don’t use subcontractors right now but that doesn’t mean that I won’t be in the future. Feel free to refer any subcontractors who may need extra work and I’ll keep their information."
She replied with:
"Thanks for your response. Will do, Julia."
She called on Friday afternoon looking for suggestions on where a client could advertise inexpensively for an Admin Assistant. She also wanted to know if I would be interested in working with her as a VA. She was rushed so we agreed to talk further next week.
So that misdirected email might turn into a Client.
