A colleague of mine recently share a great marketing tip that he says has earned him a ton of business with almost no effort, so I thought I would share...

Whenever you make a new business connection or land a new client, be sure to ask them when their birthday is and set a reminder on your calender to give them a quick call on their birthday. Birthdays are very personal, and most people are very flattered and touched when you remember their birthday. Taking a few minutes to call and wish them a good day not only makes a favorable impression on them, but also keeps your name fresh in their mind. The next time they need work done, or one of their colleagues has a business need that you can fill, rest assured that they will think of you because of how thoughtful you were!
