Default Over the Holidays, What are you doing to gain clients for the New Year?
I am new to the business, only opened my doors late November and have noticed a sharp decrease in potential clients. I know it's due to the holidays but it is still frustrating. What do you do over these quiet times to ensure you have traffic in the New Year?

What I will be do is prepping a new marketing strategy for the New Year as well as reviewing all of my systems and processes that I currently have in place.

I will also continue to do online networking but I will not be doing anything else besides enjoying the break. I used to feel frustrated with the noticiable slow down but now I cherish it.

You could possibly if you don't already have anything in place, come up with a solid marketing plan while it is slow now.

In my transcription business, I would spend September and October preparing for the November/December slow down, and the January and February wishing I weren't so busy LOL

This year, having just launched my VA business, I'm still finalizing my site and planning a debut sort of launch for the New Year, so the next couple of weeks is basically research and networking for planning that debut.

My down time is going to be spent creating a solid marketing plan for my VA business and for a new website I am launching next year.

I will also continue to work with my existing clients building solid business relationships.

I will also be working on my schedule for my podcasts in 2009. Otherwise, I am going to enjoy the slower pace and take the time to spend it with friends/family.

During shopping this past week, I dropped off several business cards at local real estate offices. I wasn't happy with my pitch, so I'll work on that this week. I will also follow-up with those drop-offs and create a brochure, which I have been putting off. Otherwise, my son is going to winter camp again for a week so the house will be fairly quiet and I just might read an e-book or 2 without being interrupted.

I am spending the time creating a brochure to send out to the businesses in my area and creating a new webpage. That is when I am not helping my husband decorate a doll house for my step daughter.

I'm also just getting started with my VA business. I'll finish my web page and get my marketing plan polished so I can hit the ground running after the first of the year. I have a few clients with my genealogy business but they are waiting until after the first of the year to continue our projects. I really involve my clients in the work so they are happy for the downtime too.
