Default Not sure if I asked this before...but is anyone helping out mortgage professionals?
I have over 15 years of mortgage experience, in sales and administrative capacities, including processing and underwriting. I fully intend on incorporating this experience (including thinking about offering contract processing-trying to find out about the licensing still-here in NY, it is unclear if I need a mortgage brokers license if I am doing ONLY processing). Is there anyone here offering the same-and outside of confirming appointments, etc...what kind of mortgage services are you offering? Know that right now the mortgagte environment isn't great...but may become viable again if rates continue to decrease and many loan officers are still working for themselves.

Appreciate the help...thanks!!

I offer mortgage services: tax and property search, review and some underwriting. I was in the field for many years issuing commitments, final policies and maintaning escrow accounts. I contacted alot of my old work friends to let them know what I am doing. Most work for the larger underwriters so everything is in-house but the smaller ones are keeping the information on the back burner.

I know have an investment client so I do basic research for him (tax checks, UCC, chain of title, legals and lien position) as well as other admin tasks.

I am not sure about the originator end of the business and you can check with NY to see their licensing requirements. In talking with an old boss the other day, things are starting to pick-up with the low interest rates and this may be good for your services since I am sure most are leary of hiring employees with the instable market or need help now.
