Default Marketing yourself as a WAHM? Not so fast...
Via twitter, this is a really good video (not me, obvs.) about being a WAHM.

Well said.

That is why I think business names should not have anything to do with kids, family, etc. In fact, I would not want to know anything about your own personal life if I were hiring. I want to know your personality (easy going, high strung, whatever)...but that is not a personal life. If I have a webcam that people connect to me with? I would avoid pictures of my kids on the wall right behind me, and the camera.

But, then again - that is the difference between a great VA and, well....just a VA.

I thought it was cute when he was like, "hey! I'm a WAHD!"

I agree too, I just posted about it on my blog, but it was pretty interesting. As humans, it is against our nature not to project who we are and what we're about into everything, so I thought it was a good cautionary tale.

Thank you for posting the video. I'm not a mom but I still found it interesting and it clerified more about marketing, your business name and objectives when reaching out to other people.

I don't think I understand how you meant this statement.

My interpretation is that a 'great VA' comes across as really professional and a business owner, while 'just a VA' has more of a 'I do this for a paycheck' mentality...

Not to sound full of myself but I AM a great VA and I am also a mom (of course my children are high school and college age). I agree with the video but I do not think it defines the difference between a great VA and a VA.
