Default Marketing
Hubby and I plan on going live with our business on March 1st. Problem is, I have my niche, know what we're aiming for, but I'm hesitant to go to the Chamber of Commerce or other networking groups here since we do plan on moving back to my home state of Tennessee from Ohio. Any suggestions on that end?

If you are looking to build a business that isn't meant to be in someone's office it shouldn't matter where you are located. Going and networking in person is a good thing gives them a chance to get to know you and use your services and when you move truthfully there shouldn't be any difference whether you are located next door or across the globe.

I'd say go for it! Doesn't hurt.

I agree with Renee. I was in Kansas and went to Networking meetings. I made contacts and increased my ezine mailing list. I've since moved to Washington, but consider those contacts in Kansas valuable for references and updates if for nothing else.

...Trish.
P.S. take plenty of business cards.

Thanks, that's good advice! I'm also planning a trip down to Tennessee and plan on doing some marketing while I'm down there, with plans to move this summer.

The SBA is a great resource, and since they are in every state, you can gather information and contacts during the transition.

The best part of being a VA is the lack of geographical boundaries. I don't see any reason why you can't market EVERYWHERE, not just in Ohio and Tennessee!

A quick note: you may wish to check out the Chamber of Commerce in both states for eligibility requirements. Our Chamber in Denver (CO) requires you to be in business a minimum of 1 year before joining.
