And it made me think. One of the VA's asnwered that she is presenting to a possible new client in a day or two. If you do not yet have your first client, what sort of things would you present? What examples of your work could you show?

I don't have my first client yet, but I am compiling my "welcome packet" together now. I think it's a good idea to have a "proposal" of sorts together to showcase my business and skills, aside from my website. So thanks for planting this question in my head, this is something I should give deep thought to.

I got two clients in a matter of one week and have never formally presented anything. I shared my work experiences with them, when asked. I basically met them at a B2B event and they had a need for my services. One of those clients calls me as needed and the other client has been ongoing. Word of mouth has been great for business actually. Of course, I think the websites, welcome packets and such are great as well. I only have business cards, website (not 100% complete) and brochures available currently, but I am always working on other forms as time allows. Good Luc

I do believe the post you were talking about is mine, and the answer is that I have done this work before. I have testimonials from my past clients. I also have some examples of my work from them as well.
However, if you are just getting into the business but have done this type of work for someone else then you can always ask for samples from your past employers. If you implemented systems for them they should be more than happy to oblige. The other thing to take into consideration is if you have built your own website, set up your own social media campaigns, or set up your own systems, these are all samples of your work.
