Re: How to reply to ads for admin. assistant
This is the verbiage I've used for listings on Craigslist and I have had a few responses and one taker so it's actually worked for me...

I noticed your posting on craigslist seeking an marketing assistant to help with the marketing of your website. Have you thought of joining forces with a Virtual Assistant/Online Business Manager?
I am a professional Online Business Manager and work with key clients by taking care of business so you can do business. Similar to a bookkeeper who handles the processes for cash flow I can manage the administrative tasks for you. I am an online business manager and my role as business manager boils down to one simple thing, I free up your time so that you can focus your time and energy on things that only YOU can do in your business. I jump in and help you manage all aspects of your business. I get to know you and your business, so I can take care of business while you do business.
You can read more about me on my site by going to Redhead Business Management.
Hiring an administrative consultant for a set number of hours each month can simplify your process, no need to worry about desk space, payroll, additional benefits, or taxes that are all required with an employee (part-time or not) and if you're concerned about not having someone in the office to handle the tasks I can assure more often than not I'm quicker and more efficient that many in house employees simply because you're not being charge when I need to go to the bathroom or take a break to have lunch or even when I need to go to the doctor. The time retained for you is your time, 100% and focused.
I can also offer assistance with social media, marketing implementation and strategic planning.
If this is something maybe interested in please contact me by reply email and I will be happy to arrange a time to answer any questions you may have.

Feel free to use, tweak, delete or whatever for your own use. I generally tweak the opening paragraph to meet the information provided in the ad and then I include a link to a 3 page PDF info package that gives them idea of my background, additional skill set etc....
I don't do this as much as I use to when I was first starting out, but it did bring me some clients. I generally stick with positions that are listed as part-time and seem to have tasks involved that I would be interested in doing. If anyone would like to see my 3 pager info package let me know and I'd be happy to post it.
