How to reply to ads for admin. assistant
Now that I am close to launching, I was wondering if any of you have ever replied to any "job" listings with your business information instead of your resume? If so, how do you go about it?

I have found a number of jobs that my business would be perfect for, but how do I approach the employer?

Thank you,
Dina

Thanks for posting this question Dina. I too have considered sending my business information instead of my resume, but was not sure if it was appropriate. I would be interested to know everyone's thoughts on this.

I have heard a few VAs say that they did reply with a link to their Website or their bio.
I did once. I feel "why not"? The worst thing is you won't hear back. But at least you are spreading the word about VA. And you never know, you just might get 'lucky'.. go for it.... I think people just are unaware of how much a VA can help any business. But once they find out it's hard to go back to in-house staff.

I have tried this and all I got was an email with an employment application form attached. Will keep trying though.

Very good question Dina, I was wondering the same thing. It would be interesting to see if anyone has had any success with that.

I guess my main question is...What would you send in the reply? A link to your website? A resume? Your bio?

Thank you,
Dina

I respond with a quick blurb about how I can help, a link to my website, and my 'professional profile' that I got through Lisa Forbes at this link and which I think is a real attention-getter!

Goddess is what you really are! Thanks for providing the link to Lisa Forbes. I sent her an PM to see if she is still offering this great service to the members. If so, I will definitely have her prepare a professional profile for me. Thank you for sharing!

I respond on a regular basis to executive assistant, personal assistant and administrative assistant jobs with a specialized cover letter introducing myself and a link to my website.
No luck yet...but you never know!!!
