Hello All,
I am new to the board and have been contemplating expanding my client base from the 3 that I have. These clients are all in the same network marketing company. Now I want to "step out" and find some small businesses or home based business clients.
My question is, What is the best way to get my name out there? I do not have a website yet (looking for a free one for now). I do have some business cards but want to update them. I also have a marketing sheet that highlights what I do.

You definitely want to get that website up, or even get a presence on just a facebook page or something where potential clients can learn about you. Join networking groups that have people in your target market, and make sure to ask your current clients for referrals and make sure they know who your target market is! Good luck.

depending were you are located you can join the chamber of comerce, rotary club, lions club and pass out business cards perhaps running a local add and have some one pass out fliers.

In person networking is usually the quickest way to gain new clients. It has been highly successful for me when I need to fill up a vacant spot quickly. You can look at Meetup to find some local networking events. I haven't found the chamber to be beneficial myself, but usually specific events geared towards my preferred client.
