Hi VAF Team!
I told you all I would share my thoughts and feelings about the
Girl Power Hour event that I attended and here you go...
I arrived shortly before 5:30PM with a good friend. She and I mingled with each other until the doors opened. In the meantime, we were able to drop our business cards in a bucket for a drawing for door prizes, etc. Since my friend and I were one of the first 100 to arrive at the event, we both walked away with a bag filled with goodies like chocolate, lotions, mascara, magazines and so much more!
When we finally went into the event, we were both pleasantly surprised at how social all the women were! We started conversations and others started them with us! It was great. We shared business cards, brochures, funny stories and generally just learned about each other.
I had so much fun that I intend to go to the next one. I have not landed a new client yet, as I just attended last night but I have to say that the woman who founded this organization hit a gold mine. It's a very valuable way to connect with other women in business or to network and get to know people.
I collected quite a few business cards and plan on sending them emails today at some point to refresh their memory with my business logo, name and website.
If you're interested in starting up a chapter in your state/area, it never hurts to ask the founder to consider starting one! EVERY state should have one of these events...WAY too much fun!
December 2nd is the next event I'm attending and this time, it's only for the first 50 individuals who buy their tickets...so, my friend and I are going!
PM me if you have any questions. Ciao for now!
