A big thank you for your suggestions.
I really like the idea of talking to the printing companies to see if their clients could use your services. Depending on what their clients are getting printed, there could be opportunities to assist with event planning, business support, even bulk mailings/letter stuffing. I'm sure there would be many other industries ideal as a connector for clients.
We hope to "launch" our business very soon and your list will come in very useful for the Grand Opening!

Wow, these are really creative marketing ideas. I especially like the idea of pairing up with someone from Avon. Can you imagine if you paired up with several Avon reps? Many Avon reps cover several territories.

Thank you for the list. I am just starting out in the VA world (yes, another newbie) but having run my own entertainment business for a number of years I have found that one of the best forms of advertisement is still word of mouth. I have found that repeat customers and ones that I have managed to build up a good, respectful working relationship with will pass on my contact details. I have yet to make it in the VA world and am only just starting out on the path and I am sure it takes lots of hard work. Anyway, waffling now.
