Default First Marketing Venture
I am finally going to launch my first marketing campaign...I have one client already, and another starting next month, but to go full time I feel I could use one or two more. So I have a question to pose: How many leads did you use for your first marketing campaign, and what was your first marketing campaign? I would appreciate any advice that anyone has...I haven't done much networking as I am fairly shy, so am hoping for something a little less personal.

Have you tried the social media outlets? There are many savvy VA's here who can give you some awesome tips about all the avenues available and how to use them.

I use local networking and referral systems and they seem to be working well for me at this time. I found that this type of marketing is cost effective and had better results than a direct market campaign of mailings or emails.

Good luck to you.

I used networking as my first marketing venture.. Secondly, I sent out an email blast to my target market through names I pulled off of association website.. not sure how "right" that was but it resulted in a long time client and I didn't get many opt outs.

Wow, my first marketing campaign was so long ago, I don't even remember it.

And, with today's technology, some of the things I did do may not even apply. I would suggest an "indirect" but effective marketing strategy, and that is getting "Advocates", and let them help you get clients. This was very effective for me --

Advocates are people who will promote your business on your behalf. Now of course, you have to tell them about your business, describe for them who is your ideal client, give them the okay to make initial contacts for you. You'd be surprises who they know -- and who would be willing to help you -- if you just ask. Let them break the ice for you -- and before you know it, you will have contact with potential new clients.

I hope this helps.

Yours,
