I opened my VA buisness in June 2008. I have been working on my marketing materials and researching as much as time allows. I have 3 years experience in the land title industry. I love this industry!! I am moving toward providing administrative support for abstractors, searchers and small title companies. Does anyone here have this industry as their niche?

I've also spent 6 years in title industry specializing in foreclosures. I have been thinking of it as a niche and I've sent out some letters to prospective clients but nothing yet. I offer municipal tax searches as well for NYS and I haven't received any responses to it. I've tried contacting small title companies but they pretty much use everyone in house. Unless I'd offer abstracting services I don't see how to get clients in this niche. We were already going paperless and web based at my last job before I left so i thought it was a good idea.

I currently do work for a title/settlement company as an employee. I have been in the business for 10+ years and most companies use in house employees for their services. With the state of the industry now companies are utilizing the employees they have and multitasking them for cost measures.

With the change to paperless some companies are letting employees telecommute to save office costs. You may want to target small companies for this service.

If you have searching experience you may want to try oil and gas companies looking for lease searchers or flippers who need the information up front for their purchases.
