Ok, I have a few questions. I have tried to find them here first but...

Outside of being a VA, I am sure that a few of us have other passions, hobbies, and outside projects?

Do you recommend listing links of other VA's or their products on your VA website? Or are you hurting one another by doing that...being that you are in the same business?

Do you find that established VA's are really open to subcontracting/mentoring?

Lets say that you are working on an Ebook or you have a Blog that doesnt relate to VA, would you recommend advertising that on your VA website or vice versa?

Personally I would not link to other VAs on my site. That would be like McDonalds linking to Burger King. Linking to your competition isn't great IMO. That said, I do link to other VAs on the blog carnival, but that's different from having it as a permanent link on my site.

Everyone is different and some are more open to subcontracting (which is much different than mentoring) than others.

IMO you shouldn't really advertise anything other than your services on your website. I own another business that is unrelated and I doubt I'll mention it, much less link to it. If I do, it would be on the About Me page and just be a simple "Amanda is also the founder of XX" kind of thing. I am in the process of writing an e-book for my other business and THAT I will link because they are related.

I have a link to another VA site that doesn't provide the same service as I do.

I personally don't endorse other VA products on my site but I know others that do.

I have found a few great VAs who I occasionally subcontract work to. I haven't yet come across any that aren't willing to at least answer a few questions I may have.

I agree with Amanda. If you are writing an ebook that is unrelated to your VA site I think you should link to it because you wrote it.

I was thinking along the same mind set. Since it is unrelated to VA, I dont think I should link to it and/or even mention anything about my other business on my VA site. Thanks guys....

Well, I think the majority of va's are willing to answer any questions, as you can see by this forum. I have links to other va's on my blog that don't provide the same services I do, and they have links back to me. That's really important - if you give someone a link, make sure you get one back because it helps your search engine results. As far as subcontacting, I do some sub work and will happily sub out work if I need to, or if I get work that I don't really do.
