I've had ads on there on the past as well as applied to ads when I first started out. Nothing ever came of it.

I post ads on there regularly and reply to them as well. I have received some responses but have not gotten any clients from it yet. Since it's free I'll keep trying.

I often post ads for my design business in the "Creative Services" section. That's actually how one of my largest design clients found me. Keep posting and eventually it will pay off!

I inquired about some postings, but they ended up being scams. I haven't done any postings of my own. It's a good idea though, I'm gonna try my luck at posting. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks. I have posted some ads on there since it was free. I am sure there is some great stuff out there just a lot of junk mixed in with it.

Exactly! Like finding that diamond in the rough! The good stuff is there, it's just knowing how to weed out the bad!

I post as well as seek ads on Craigslists. In the last six months I got one good client, a professor in TN. As far as responding to ads, I've gotten a few customers for one time projects.

I think with Craigslist the thing is those that advertise there are usually looking for affordable services, so with leads from this site I'm a usually more flexible with my pricing. I will also caution you to be careful and get all payments upfront or at least before releasing the finished product. If using PayPal to collect I also strongly advise waiting 3 to 4 days after receiving payment to release the finished project, even for credit cards.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. Thanks that gives some hope for getting a few leads from there. Great pointers about the payments.

Under the services section. Just choose the sub-section that's most appropriate for the services you offer.

Just remember that you're only allowed to post to one section/city at a time and only once every 48 hours and that your previous ad must be removed before posting a new one...

Good luck!

I've post on Craig's it took 2 months before someone called. However, it turned out to be a short term gig. (research & database creation & management.)This was my first client & this is where I discovered some do's & don't of the biz.
Great learning experience.

I've posted my services on Craigslist a few times but have not gotten any clients from it. I also respond to part-time administrative assistant jobs on there. I let them know about my services and the benefits to outsourcing these duties.

I think Craigslist is a great place to find deals on stuff like cars. However, it seems like there are so many ads on there for services that people have trouble finding what they are looking for. On the flip side, you have nothing to lose by posting because it's free!
