Thank you all for your help in picking which books to add to my library. I am an advid reader, a junkie, if you will. Some very useful and great, E-Myth comes to mind. Others, eh, intteresting, maybe some things that were useful.

I love this thread. There are so many marketing/business books out there that it can be overwhelming trying to make a choice. Hearing from other people, especially people whose judgement you trust, makes it so much easier to feel confident that I am making the right purchase.

Well I have been wanting to buy this book for quite sometime however have been doing a lot of courses lately and decided to wait but today I finally said to myself go check it out. Results are.....I bought it! lol Couldn't help myself.

I'm going through this book with a group right now. I'm really excited about it. I'd love to hear more results from people who go through the system.

The one recommendation I have is to be sure you have a set way to handle your contacts. Don't wait until they start coming in to figure something out, have that in place BEFORE you start.

I had been wondering which of the marketing books I've seen would be a good one.
I have several books on marketing your business but they are all geared toward someone providing a product, not a service.

OK, right after I posted the three new clients and three potential clients and about 30 minutes later (if that) someone called and made it four new clients and three (still) potential clients in just over 28 days.

The biggest thing I did was make an effort to increase my twitter relational activity and I was intentional about posting on forums and two online local networking forums I belong to. All of my new clients came from online activity. My focus was networking and writing (but I honestly didn't get any writing done). Honestly, I didn't do well during my 28 days because I started getting really REALLY busy.

There's a comment in the book that many people see results in weird places (where they aren't actively working), I found this to be true. There's like a magnet, when I'm doing the program people come to me from the most random places.

Good for you, Lanel! That's very inspiring.

I may need to go through the program again soon (I went through it during my review but not very thoroughly as my focus was on reviewing the material). Although I'm insanely busy right now, it's all project work and not retainers, so I need to work on my marketing to keep clients coming in once things quiet down. Actually, the goal is to not quiet down at all, LOL!
