Get Clients NOW!: A 28-Day Marketing Program for Professionals, Consultants, and Coaches by C.J. Hayden is considered a marketing bible by many service professionals. The author compares an effective marketing campaign to preparing a nutritious meal. Both require planning and preparation, and both should be created with ingredients that you enjoy. You wouldn’t cook a meal using ingredients you hate, would you? Similarly, your marketing campaign shouldn’t include components that you dislike so much that you can’t bring yourself to put them in action.

Once she explains what comprises an effective marketing campaign, the author shares five marketing strategies that you can pick from, based on your own personal strengths. For instance, if you thrive on telling anyone and everyone who will listen all about your business, you may benefit from the Public Speaking strategy,

Once you pick your strategy, you’ll complete a Get Clients NOW! Action Worksheet, on which you’ll record your current business status and your goals for the immediate future. Then you’ll write down how you’re going to accomplish them.

To make things extraordinarily easy, the author lists numerous action steps you can take, based on your marketing strategy. For example, if, like me, you choose Writing & Publicity, some of your weekly action steps could be posting to your blog twice each week, writing one new article each week, and finding one new website per week to post your articles. Having a definitive plan makes marketing just another thing to check off your to-do list instead of an overwhelming task.

Next up, you’ll start your 28-day marketing program. You’ll have access to a Tracking Worksheet where you will keep track of your progress throughout the month. The author also includes day-by-day entries that provide support, advice and encouragement as you make your way through the program.

In short, Get Clients NOW! contains a wealth of simple, easy-to-use tactics to help you market your services.

This book is AMAZING! Seriously, about a week into the 28-day program I had to stop because I was too busy fielding phone calls (although I shouldn't have quit at the time). This book is one of the first I recommend as a MUST HAVE. It's definitely one to buy and KEEP. It's designed to allow you to go through the program more than once.

One recommendation I would make is to find a partner to go through the process with you. That's the one thing I wish I'd done the last time and one thing I'll definitely do next time.

This IS a great book! I've rec'd SO many titles on this very subject but this one actually WORKS! As long as you follow along you're sure to see great results.

I don't remember the strategy the book calls it (my book is at home and I'm in my new office so I can't turn around in my chair and check LOL). But, I did online forum posting and networking through 2 (I think) online networks. It was two years ago and I had a lot going on right then so I can't remember all the details. I just know that this book works and I will DEFINITELY be doing it again.

I believe in this book so much that if you can only buy ONE book for your entire business to get started, this is the one I say get. (But, only after you have your systems in place and are ready to actually GET CLIENTS.)

I didn't mention this in the review, but on my second day of the program, I made an exciting contact with someone who's had great success as a copywriter, who will not only be a nice mentor but will most likely be a great source of work in the future.

I had to stop the program after the first week for personal reasons, but I plan to start it up again soon. Can't wait to see what happens!

I know...anything to get business pumping! There are so many books, ebooks, seminars, etc out there that it's hard to know when one is worth the money. Whenever I see a real person endorsing something, that means so much more to me and I'm more likely to look into it. I like your website, by the way.
