This title is fun to read thanks to the author’s conversational tone, and he gives a wealth of insight to help readers fine-tune their marketing plans.
Book Yourself Solid includes a link to an accompanying workbook that you can print out and put in a three-ring binder if you so choose. I filled mine out as I went along, and I’m so glad I took the time to do so! Before reading this book, I thought I knew the ideal target market and niche services I wanted to focus on in my business, but I couldn’t shake a nagging doubt in the back of my mind. The problem was that I never sat down and decided exactly who I wanted to work with. Other marketing books tell you that you need to define your market, but this one gives specific examples to show you exactly how detailed you need to be. Thanks to this book, I was forced to put serious thought into what I wanted from my business, and the light bulb finally clicked on. I suddenly knew exactly who I should be serving and what I should be doing for them, which led to a renewed excitement in my work. I could hardly wait to start marketing myself to my new market!
Speaking of marketing, this book also goes into great detail on how to market your ideal services to your ideal clients. There are chapters covering several different marketing campaigns, such as The Book Yourself Solid Networking Strategy, The Book Yourself Solid Speaking and Demonstrating Strategy, The Book Yourself Solid Web Strategy and The Book Yourself Solid Writing Strategy, just to name a few. The author instructs you to choose several strategies that best fit your personality and strengths.
The author then shows you in great detail how to implement your marketing campaign, complete with a multitude of resources (many of which are free) to help you along the way.
I can’t say enough good things about this book! I’ve worked in the marketing industry full-time for over two years and have spent the last seven months honing my internet marketing knowledge, and I still picked up many new marketing techniques.
