I too appreciate all the information here, need to work harder on my marketing. I originally was wondering, in a sense, how to use Craig's List? Mainly meaning........do you post your own ad or do you comb all the ads from different cities to find possible "jobs". I saw someone earlier say they post their own ad, and I sense from other comments that is what most of you do, too. Am I right in assuming that?

Denise you can post your own ad and also respond to ads. When responding to ads, I suggest you really look at that ads to determine whether or not their job requirements could be done in a virtual manner.

Thanks Dawn. I guess I just wanted to make sure I understood Craigslist....in that my experience with it is that you always have to sign into a city, and it seems a little cumbersome to me to be going through and picking out different cities to look for the work. So, was wondering if I was doing something wrong? Is there a better way to look for the work? (And like you say............evaluating it). And it seems, from what I see here, that the better way is to post your own ad.

Most go for the major cities. Take a look at the small business ads, and do a search for "Virtual Assistant" under services/jobs to get some ideas.

Ok......I sort of feel like a dummy here, but I am still struggling with Craig's List, for this reason. Because I live in Las Vegas, I assume that is where I post my ad. But, does that also mean that only people who click on Las Vegas will see my ad? The next question being........those of you who post ads on Craig's List........in order to get more traffic, do you post an ad in several different cities? Thanks so much for all your help.......but I do feel a little clueless as to how Craig's List works.
