I have done some article writing for marketing purposes. You do need to read the submissions rules carefully before you submit to the article directories (ie., some directories have a minimum word count, some won't allow any html except in the signature line, etc.) I've had better luck with "long tail keywords" when I'm writing an article as opposed to general type information.

I have also found that press releases work well for driving traffic to your website but then again there are very specific rules for submitting press releases.

I'm a big believer in getting as many hooks in the water as I can when it comes to marketing.

Best wishes in your business.

Hi

I do a lot of article marketing for my business and for clients. I think by getting my keywords in there and then when come types in Google and we come up, that makes a big difference.

I totally agree. Clients want more than what a virtual assistant is. But I do think clients still appreciate articles like 10 tops ways a publicity va can market your books, or things like that where you go more into your niche.

I also think it's good to send your articles on topics of interest to other ezines and newsletters if it fits. For example, I sent an article on social networking and the new way to do PR to a publishers newsletter and site and they published it. (I was thrilled.) I did get 3 potential client calls that day, so it rocked. Still landing the clients, but it opened up the opportunities.

Thanks!

Thanks for this advice. I have used article writing for a couple of my online products and its worked. But the article was very generic. I will avoid this in this field.
Thanks
Vicky (so new I am getting overwhelmed)

Hi Sylvia,

I have done article marketing for clients and have had success with it, but haven't tried doing it for my VA business ('cause I've just set up my websites). But I've seen so many articles by VAs wherein they promote their business. I believe it's a really good way of getting the word out there. It will not only boost traffic to your website but you will be able to establish yourself as an expert.

I am a writer, so article marketing seems like JUST the thing for me. Any solid advice about where to look to get published?

Thanks much!

Jo

What about doing an article on the importance of developing a business plan. But I don't want to put anything out there that's cliche
