Default Article Marketing
Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and I wanted to share to you the success that I have had with article marketing. It is a subtle way to demonstrate your expertise and gain exposure for your business. I have found this to be a great networking tool and hope there are others out there using this technique. It's great!

Focus on writing about trends and issues occurring within the specific industries that you support (i.e. I specialize in marketing so the majority of my articles deal with marketing). How you distribute your articles is up to you. There are TONS of free article distribution databases out there (i.e. article database123, findarticles, etc.).

Hope this helps!

It is a little expensive - but I use (and most of my clients use) a service called SubmitYourArticle.com for article submissions for $37 a month you can submit 8 articles a month to 100's of directories. The service helps you create different versions of the same article to submit.

(You can even join as an affiliate-- if you sign enough clients up your service is free).

Happy article posting...

I will keep that service in mind, but I have garnered a lot of inquiries off of the free article marketing sites I mentioned below and have delveloped a fairly decent following of readers (some which have turned into inquiries) on Ezinearticles and Associated Content.

These are free directories and Associated Content is awesome because they pay you for the articles you write (it's not a lot but something is better than nothing!).

Have any of you calculated your return on investment (ROI) on membership or submission fees?

I focus my articles on weekly publications in my target area. It helps me get my business face in theirs. I also don't pay to have them published. Granted, not every one will make the cut, but most do if they are well written and fit within the publications theme.

Robin,

I have had a good ROI with SYA. When I send out the articles -- my web traffic jumps and I usually get more inquiries -- it also saves me over an hour of time. For my clients - the ROI is greater.

It isn't where I have people start -- but once they get into articles and want them everywhere -- it is where they all end up.

Excellent point! I can always tell when an article has been submitted (especially Ezineartcles) because I do see a lift in traffic to my website. In case you do not know how to track this information, I highly recommend using Google Analytics—it is free and this will enable you to see the keywords bringing your clients to your site, where your traffic is coming from, etc. (you do have to have some HTML experience otherwise you risk messing up your website).

I have found my articles posted on other people’s blogs (giving me the credit of course!), company websites, etc. Even though some of these people have not used my services—it’s free advertising!
