Hi All,

I've been visiting this site for awhile now (okay, lurking lol), and love the info everyone shares. I'm hoping some of you will have words of wisdom for me. I'm getting ready to launch my Va Business very soon. One of my marketing ideas is to offer free teleconference seminars exclusively to members of the local chamber offices that I am a member of.

The problem I'm having is that I keep drawing a blank when it comes to topics. Other than a seminar explaining what a VA is and how we can help their business, can anyone suggest other topics for these calls?

Welcome to the forum It is great you came out of lurker mode

I think your idea is a great. My first thought is, what interests you? What are your skills and areas of expertise? Since you are going to be hosting the teleconference it is a good idea (at least for the first few) for you to host a conference that you know something about or enjoy talking about. Of course you want to be sure the topic is one that interests your audience. Perhaps during the first teleconference you can ask everyone what topics THEY would be interested in and go from there.

For starters, talking how VAs and specifically about how you can help the business in your area is a good start, but you don't want it to be all about you either. Is there something of interest specific to your local area's businesses (maybe an upcoming business fair) that would interest the callers?

I could probably go on forever here, but hopefully that is enough to get your thoughts churning. I am sure others will chime in too!

What about something along the lines of how technology is changing the business world, especially for small businesses? Not only how a VA uses that technology to help you but how they can also use it to help themselves? Mention some of the resources VAs use, how they can always stay in touch and top of things even if they're out of town.

Let's talk about clients. Suggestions on how to get and retain them.

Another thing you could maybe try is to have a guest speaker every once in a while. Maybe they could talk about their industry a bit as it relates to working with a VA. For instance, a real estate agent could speak on a call to address the real estate industry and how individual agents could really benefit from having their own VA (or sharing among 2 or 3).
