Default 10 great sites to find freelance work!
I was networking on one of the forums I reguarly visit and I stumbled accross this page:-

http://www.flexibleworkinglife.com/1...reelance-work/

A few of the sites are UK-based but there's also the 'old favourite' craigslist on there.

If any of you have used any of the sites then please say. I have just signed up to brandrepublic and chinwag; so I'll let you know how they go.

Very interesting list to look into. Thank you for sharing. I've considered using Craiglist but I'm a bit concerned because there are so many strange people browsing through them. So I'll see.

Brenda - I am too also concerned/wary about using craigslist, so I try to avoid those.

I signed up with Craig's list and Elance, and I've found that they don't want to pay a "real" wage. They seem to only want someone who charges $5/hour. In fact, I bid on something on Elance (I think it was Elance) and got a note back telling me it was way too high.

Their loss.

Craigslist can have strange or untrustworthy people on it just like any other...however I will say, I've met many legitimate people through Craigslist including a job I applied for, I've sold things on there, found my last three wonderful childcare providers on there and luckily enough, that's how I met my husband.

I've recently posted an ad on their in the small biz ads, but haven't had any contacts from it yet.

I know what you mean. oDesk is no different. There are some postings there that are looking for freelancers for only $3 per hour!

You really have to appreciate people willing to trust their companies and futures to people in India and other emerging nations. Onefriend told me last night that she was talking to a potential client who had his articles written in India and then spent 2 hours revising the articles. She told him that he was already paying someone to write the articles, he should just have to read them and change maybe one or two words.

I wonder how much extra work the people who hire $3/hr admin help make for themselves.
