Default When is the best time to establish a legal - professional relationship?
Is it best to become acquainted with a lawyer prior to “needing” one?

Or is this really not necessary/waste of time?

What are your experiences please…

I've not yet need a lawyer nor become acquainted with one yet. However, I do network a lot and now that you've brought up the subject I believe I'll network with a lawyer or two so that I have someone to call in when needed. So I suggest you do the same.

Thanks Sue. I will be looking forward to making solid connections with a few good lawyers.

I have to agree, though I have yet to need a lawyer, having one in your network is a big plus. Not only is it good to know who to go to when the need comes up, but its also great to be able to bounce ideas off individuals and get the legal side of the coin for free. Even better is to network with a lawyer in your area (mostly because their ideas and information will be more accurate than say a criminal lawyer or a lawyer from nebrasks if you live in washington). Check out your local chamber of commerce. They usually have a few "neighborhood" events a year where non members can meet members and see what the deal is. These are great for networking with locals of all fields.
