#1 (permalink)   03-21-2009 Carla Foches New Member   Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: Estepona, Spain Posts: 45 W-9, etc. Good morning, I was wondering if some of the non-U.S. VA's could help me out. It appears that U.S. companies ask for a W-9 form from the VA's, which is something only a U.S. VA can provide. Does this mean that all non-U.S. VA's are locked out of this market ? Does the same thing apply in the U.K., with a W-9 equivalent ? In which case are we also locked out of that market ? Australia/New Zealand - same thing ?? Thanks for your help.

If they ask for them, point out that you cannot fill this out because you are not a US citizen and do not have US identification numbers. Point out that you pay your taxes to your home country and are responsible for that. You do not get a 1099. I have several clients that use folks in different countries.
