Default Sole Proprietor vs LLC
Preface: This is a WEIRD REQUEST.

I need a comparison chart for these two types of business. I am trying to decide between sole proprietor and LLC. I think I want to LLC because I may because a business credit card (I don't know if that would possible as a sole proprietorship).

I need a book or website (website is better; I want to do this fairly quickly and I have risk the book might not be at the library) that really explains all the pros and cons of both so I can finalize this once and for all.

Thanks, everyone.

Caroline

I would also read this article as I found it be very enlightening.

In most States, doing your own llc is also cheap and easy - no real need for an attorney. I provided a llc basics chat in December of 2007 that is located here and I have a llc basics brochure in the docs library here you may also wish to read.

One correction to my info - fed tax deposits are due 04/15, 07/15, 09/15 and 01/15 NOT 10/15 as previously stated.

Thanks for the websites. The protection from personal liability is the main reason that I will form a LLC shortly.
