Default Business Insurance
Was wondering how many have business insurance?

If so, what kind of coverage?

There is a really good thread on this forum regarding insurance. I have General Liability, Errors & Omissions (I am a bookkeeper), and a Service (theft) Bond.

It is just amazing how many things you have to think about when starting up a new business!

I'm sure these will be very handy!

If you own a home, can't you add it to your homeowners insurance since it's a virtual business being done out of the home?

Yes, you can BUT - my homeowners insurance recommended that I purchase separate general liability for my business. It's only $500/month

Would that possibly be per year? Oh I hope so or it's off my budget list.

I have my equipment and on-site accident policy covered through my home policy. My E&O policy is a completely separate policy.

I got quotes from a couple places, the best price I found was through State Farm Specialities. Call you local State Farm agent and (most of them) can help with that. I did have to change my agent because the first one had no clue about this (and I didn't like him anyway). You also get multi-discounts if you carry your home and auto with them so contact whoever carries that for you. State Farm can also write your workers comp policy for you. It's nice to have one person handling everything for you.
