Default Your first client
Hello,
My business is officially up and running today and I cannot help but wonder what it will be like when I receive my first client.

Would you all mind telling the forum about your first customer and how the interaction went?

Many thanks from a newbie!!

Best,
Erikka Cullum

I found my first client on Craigslist five years ago - everything was handled via email as she was in NYC and I was living in India at the time. It was a great start to a prosperous relationship for both of us. Since then she's referred countless other clients to me and is still with me.

There are some great 'first client' stories in the Virtual Assistant Interviews section, if you have time to read through some of the interviews...

My first client was a technology company. I had met a potential client and was reviewing his website and called the web designer to ask about their experience with the company. After a brief explaination of who I was and what the call was regarding, the owner gave me the information and then asked if I was available to do some work for her as well.

We were tasked with re-sizing and standardizing images for a lighting website, which turned out the company sold lighting fixtures to major companies such as Barnes and Noble...I have not been able to visit one to this day without thinking about this specific project.
