In the course of our VA work we get asked to carry out all manner of weird & wonderful tasks...my latest is being asked to create podcasts from the New York Times for a client to listen to at the gym!!

What's the strangest thing you've been asked to do for a client??

One of my clients was attending a conference in my city. When I picked her up at the bus station to drive her to her hotel, she gave me her cell phone and a list of numbers to program into the speed dial. I gave it back to her before she went home.

To fill out their bankruptcy paperwork (I made them pay in advance, LOL).

Deirdre, I've set up an account at gcast.com where you can create a podcast by phone to their toll-free number. Once it's uploaded, it gives you a link to send to the client.

My client is having me go through heaps of articles and record them that way...I've had a look at the NY Times website and can't see a Podcast option for the articles he wants. It would be great if you knew of a way to get them!!!

And, Janet, how kind are you doing a meet & greet service for your clients??!!!

The "meet and greet" actually had a few purposes:

• a chance for us to meet face-to-face for the first time
• to deliver a box of paperwork to her
• she wanted to take me out for lunch
• so she could give me her cell phone for programming!

And I did charge her for my time (not during lunch though - that would be tacky).

OMG!!! When I first started here, my Director asked me to do the same thing for her except that she gave me her old phone and asked me to program the #s into her new one.
