Default Should I bug my client?
I recently finished a project for a client who was very pleased with my work and offered to write a testimonial for me if I'd like one. I responded that I would love a testimonial and thanked her for the offer. Now it's been a week and a half and she hasn't sent anything. So, my question is, should I send her a quick note, maybe asking if she received my previous email accepting her offer? Maybe she never got my email reply...

I don't want to bug her, but I could really use the testimonial to help increase my credibility as an editor. How long should I wait before following up? What would you say if you were in this situation?

Tammi, definitely contact your client - be honest and tell her you'd love to have her feedback, not only for your own growth as an editor, but to help boost your new business...
She's likely just busy and doesn't realize how very important it is to you.

If it was me I would just write a quick, friendly email noting how nice it was to work together and how much you appreciate her offer of a testimonial - you're looking forward to receiving her feedback and working together in the future on similar projects (something to that effect)

Forgot to mention that I did send my client an email, explaining that I'd had some email issues (which was true), and I wanted to make sure that she'd received my email accepting her offer for a testimonial. She got back to me the same day with an absolutely glowing testimonial! It was very nice, and I promptly added it to my website!

She probably just forgot. Send her a friendly reminder and tell her at the same time how much you enjoyed doing the work.

Clients are busy and things like testimonials for the great support we VAs provide is sometimes forgotton. Well done for following up with her and it is now a great addition for your website.
