I have a bio page and I have a "company resume".. my first client said that this was one of the reasons she hired me over about 15 other VAs.

I wouldn't post a resume on my webiste. It'd give my clients wrong impression and see me as an employee instead of a business owner.

Maybe off-topic but here goes: what do you do if a prospect asks for a resume?
From the responses I would assume that I should politely decline giving one out because it might give an impression of me being an employee rather than a business owner. However, I find this rather difficult for me at the stage I am in. I just started a few days ago and clients don't come easy. Any advice?

I don't have a resume on my website. Yes, I do have some information about the company and a paragraph saying that we have over 5yrs experience... but I am also thinking of having a Portfolio on my site with examples of work (as long as they are approved by the client beforehand!)

Tamika,
What do you include in your "company resume"?

Hello,

A company resume should include info about your background and experience, as well as your business philosophy, etc. At the upcoming OIVAC, a seminar on this very topic is being presented entitled "Creating a Company & Personal Profile that Attracts Clients", by Anita Bruton, a VA that specializes in developing company profiles (resumes). You can review the entire seminar schedule here.

Wow. This got me to thinking. Maybe we should have it too. I'd suggest it right away.

The plus side, I think, of having a company resume is that it lends a person "feel" to the company/business owner, reaching out to clients who are more comfortable in dealing face to face. It makes the whole business close and gives an air of trustworthiness.

I guess the clinch, though, is to design the page in a way that will blow your clients' minds out. Impress like you mean business. Making a company resume page and just winging it will be seen right through.

Or perhaps one shouldn't call it blatantly as a "company resume". Just brand is a page that highlights your accomplishments and creds.
