Your clients will more than likely be happy to provide them - just let them know you're updating your website and would like to know if they can write a few words for you about what it's like to work with you for use in your marketing materials (including your site)...something to that effect.

I often get emails from clients praising my work and I just ask if I can use it as a testimonial. I've also let clients know up front that after a certain period of time, I'd like a testimonial. No one ever says no.
I got my first testimonial! I added it to my website today and then I realized I had another one on my LinkedIn page from one of my connections so I added that one to another page on my site. Thanks for they input everyone.

Are you a member of LinkedIn.com Jenifer? I am and have many testimonials there so I copied and pasted them to my site at http://vadirectory.net/blog/testimonials/ which has been effective. Over time you'll get testimonials from clients but you can always ask people who know you personally now, or even previous work colleagues.
Yes KAthie I am and I did use one from there as well. Remembered that later in the day. I only have one client right now so I'm looking forward to more testimonials which would mean more clients.
