Default Referral Gifts?
I just picked up a new client who was referred to me by a business acquaintance and I'm not sure how to thank him for the referral.

I'm thinking of a thank you note and Starbuck's card, but if anyone has a more creative idea, I'd love to hear it.

Any thoughts?

Hi Donovanassist!

Sorry I don't know your real name. I actually had this happen to me not too long ago. I sent him a thank you card via snail mail, thank you statement via e-mail and offered him a discounted price on his next invoice.

I think offering discounts on future services or even giving pre-paid gift cards, Starbucks gift cards, thank you communication (cards, email, etc.) are great ways to show appreciation!

Congratulations on the referral and I hope you have many more to come!!!

Normally I would offer free hours if the referral was from an existing client. But he's not a client.

He works very close to where I live, so I'm thinking of dropping off some bakery cookies and a thank you note.

For a great referral, I always rely on Hersheys.com - Everyone loves chocolate and you can add your own message on the chocolate! Seems any person who has received this from me has never forgotten my name and refers many more clients to me.

I have tried Starbucks and even discounts on my services, yet Hersheys seems to get the best response (and for a special treat, try Godivas Chocolates - they do not customize, however, they are delectable!)

That Hershey's suggestion is a good one!
