Default Referral Appreciation
Hi Everyone
Does anyone have a policy in place in regards to referrals? Such as, other VAs referring you or what about someone in general that you are not really acquainted with? I'm working on my fifth (5) referral via Twitter, and I would like to have a referral policy in place. If a client refers me to someone, they get an invoice percentage discount. That policy seems to be working very well for now. But, I need to establish some kind of policy for general use of people I don't necessarily associate with on a daily basis. I would like to show my appreciation, just not exactly sure which is the best way to go about it. Would love to hear what your referral policy consist of, if you don't mind to share them with me?

Out of the 5 referrals, 3 have become clients and corresponding with the 5th one now, to see if we're a good match. The one that didn't work out, I sent a Thank You note to the person that referred me, and told them how much I appreciated the referral - Isn't that sufficient?

Any thoughts or ideas you would like to share?

Kena,

I usually send something from sendoutcards.com. Sometimes it is just a thank you but if they refer more than one I usually send brownies or something.

Congrats on your clients!

Hey Kena,

I usually just send a thank-you email. I've referred people to others in the past, and a simple acknowledgement from the person I sent business to is more than enough thanks for me!

Sending a card or small thank you of some sort works well. I've also offered up to two hours of my services. It's a way for them to get to know you and your services and who knows, they may become a paying client!
